Professional venue security for a major live performance
TRU Event Security & Consultancy Ltd was back on duty at Westlands Entertainment Venue in Yeovil for This Is Elvis – Ben Portsmouth on 5 September 2026.
As the main security provider to Westlands Entertainment Venue, TRU provides ongoing security support for the venue and was contracted to deploy the appropriate security team for this live performance.
Supporting a busy live entertainment venue
Live performances bring together large numbers of people within a busy venue environment, meaning security provision needs to work closely alongside venue management and operational teams.
For This Is Elvis, the primary objective was to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for members of the public, venue staff and performers while supporting the operational requirements of the venue.
The TRU team provided a professional security presence throughout the event, supporting areas such as:
Public and audience safety
Venue security
Crowd monitoring and management
Incident response
Supporting venue staff and management
Maintaining a professional and approachable presence
Supporting the venue in meeting its licensing objectives
Security that supports the experience
At a live entertainment event, good security should help the evening run smoothly without distracting from the performance itself.
While the audience focused on the show, TRU operatives remained focused on the wider environment — monitoring activity, identifying potential issues and being ready to respond when required.
That combination of visibility, communication, experience and early intervention is an important part of professional venue security.
An ongoing partnership with Westlands
TRU's work at Westlands extends beyond individual performances.
As the venue's main security provider, the relationship demonstrates TRU's ability to provide consistent security support across a varied programme of entertainment and events.
From live music and performances to large public gatherings and special events, every deployment brings different requirements — and the security provision needs to respond accordingly.
